Thyme honey is produced by the Souka family in Lefkada and is considered top quality honey. Its production amounts to approximately 10% of the total honey production of Greece. It belongs to the flower honeys, but in fact it is a separate category due to its strong aromatic and taste characteristics. Thyme honey has a pleasant taste, but sometimes, due to its high concentration of fructose, it leaves a burning sensation in the mouth. It is considered to have tonic and antiseptic properties. It is rich in trace elements (iron, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium) and in nutrients while it has a high content of fructose, vitamins A, β-carotene, complex of B vitamins and minerals.
Store in a dry and cool place. Crystallization is a natural phenomenon of the product. Not to be consumed by infants less than 12 months.
